According to the Prefect, Mihai Mohaci, TOTAL has been one of the first foreign companies to invest in the county, nowadays among the most dynamic in the country. Brasov county exports represented last year 3 billion Euros, he said. After visiting the plant, the French ambassador, François Saint-Paul, said he was highly impressed by the performance of our tools and equipment, especially the new packaging line. He stressed the quality of the TOTAL Group putting high the values of innovation and technology. He also reminded that Romania had a strong relation and history with the petrol industry, building the first refinery in the world in 1857.

Before lunch, a press conference was held in front of a dozen of journalists from economic and industrial local newspapers and magazines. At the occasion, Franck Haëttel, the Managing Director, reminded the five priorities that guide the development of the company: proximity to the customers, technology in each drop of lubricant produced, safety for employees, community and environment, and people as the main strategic asset. Jean-Louis Bonenfant, the ENCO manager, said that TOTAL invests each year between 1 and 1.5 million dollars in modern equipment in order to grow the capacity of the plant. In 2015, 24 000 tons are planned to be produced by the plant, a volume multiplied by 2.5 in 6 years.

The event ended with a dinner in Poiana Brasov for our customers and partners. The informal atmosphere made the festivity even more enjoyable. Franck Haëttel closed this long day with an invitation addressed to all the stakeholders and the staff to continue the journey of TOTAL in Romania towards a bright future.
