TOTAL, the new Opel supplier in Romania

TOTAL, the new Opel supplier in Romania

Total furnizor Opel

Team work was the key to successfully signing the contract with Opel, on the 5th of August. This new collaboration will open up new perspectives for TOTAL's reputation on the Romanian market and for the volume of products waiting to be distributed across the country.

Through this contract, Opel – a General Motors group brand - becomes part of our OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) products portfolio, joining our other traditional business models such as Dacia, PSA, Renault, Scania and Class. This achievement is important since Romania is the only country in Southeast Europe that has signed a direct collaboration with OPEL. Sales will be managed and developed directly by TOTAL on a drop and shipment scheme, other regional OPEL affiliates continuing to receive supplies from the central warehouse in Hungary.

According to APIA (The National Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association), there were 585.137 OPEL cars in Romania last year, of which 5.395 new vehicles sold in 2015. Taking into account the existing number of OPEL vehicles and the forecast sales of GM products supplied for OPEL, we have every reason to consider the target of 400 MT/year achievable.

The contract with OPEL is a result of successful teamwork between TOTAL and the OPEL Representative in Romania. The first delivery was made on the 13th of September.
